National insurance company limited is India's oldest general insurance company. It was incorporated in Kolkata in the year 1906 to fulfill the nation's aspiration for Swaraj. National insurance company was merged along with 21 foreign and 11 Indian companies to form the National Insurance company limited after passing of the General Insurance business nationalization act in 1972. It is an indemnity based health insurance policy that can be issued on individual as well as family floater basis. The policy covers expenses incurred due to hospitalization for inpatient treatment or day care treatment during the policy period. The minimum and maximum sum insured under the policy is ₹3 lakhs and ₹10 lakhs respectively. The entry Age for this plan is 18 years to 43 years. The policy covers the alternative treatments up to the sum insured limit mentioned under the policy. A cumulative bonus of 5% to 50% is available under the plan for every claim free year.
The plan covers the health checkup expenses incurred by the insured customer during the policy period. The time limit to submit the documents to the Third party administrator is at least 45 days prior to the expiry of the policy period. The health checkup option is available every 2 years without a break between the policy periods and the limit of expenses that would be reimbursed would be up to Rs.3000.
