Iffco Tokio general insurance company was incorporated in 2000, as a joint venture between the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative limited (IFFCO),which is one of the World’s largest fertilizer manufacturers and Tokio Marine Group, which is one of the largest insurance groups in Japan. Iffco Tokio has received general insurance license from the Insurance regulatory and development authority of India (IRDAI) in the year 2000 and commenced operations in the same year with headquarters at Gurgaon. At present IFFCO holds about 51% in the joint venture whereas Tokio Marine group holds 49%.

There is a waiting period of 30 days before you can make a claim under the family health insurance plan. This waiting period is known as the initial waiting period and is not applicable for accident related hospitalization.
