Absolutely. An employee can link their existing individual NPS account (Tier I) to the corporate model. This allows them to consolidate their retirement savings and benefit from the additional employer contribution tax benefits.
The Tier I account is the primary retirement account with tax benefits and withdrawal restrictions. The Tier II account is a voluntary, liquid investment account with no tax benefits on the investment amount and no withdrawal restrictions, acting like a mutual fund. A Tier I account is mandatory to open a Tier II account.
